Taylor Swift may lead the race with six nominations for the 2015 American Music Awards, but Sam Hunt is close behind. The "Take Your Time" singer proves that 2015 has been his year with the ongoing praise for his debut album Montevallo, which is up for Favorite Country Album alongside Jason Aldean's Old Boots, New Dirt and Florida Georgia Line's Anything Goes. Hunt is up for three awards including Favorite Country Album, New Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist — Country.

Meanwhile, Luke Bryan finds himself in the Artist of the Year category, battling Swift, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Meghan Trainor and the Weeknd for the top prize.

The 43rd annual awards show includes four country categories: the previously mentioned Favorite Album — Country, as well as Favorite Country Male Artist, Favorite Country Female Artist and Favorite Country Duo or Group. For Favorite Country Male Artist, Bryan, Hunt and Aldean are nominated, while Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood have earned Favorite Country Female Artist nominations. Meanwhile, Zac Brown Band, Florida Georgia Line and Little Big Town are up for the Favorite Duo or Group — Country award.

Jennifer Lopez will host the 2015 American Music Awards, which air Nov. 22 at 8PM ET on ABC.
