2012 ACM Award for Female Vocalist of the Year – Martina McBride
A decade ago, this was Martina McBride's award to win. She was the genre's signature female voice and every song she released sparked a new generation of country female wannabees. Her career is on a rebound now, with the release of 'Eleven' and the Top 5 hit 'I'm Gonna Love You Through It.'
She will win if: McBride will need the nostalgia vote, as her resume doesn't stack up to that of the blonde singers in this category. A win would be a great story however, and it would surly be a pleasure to watch her accept the trophy after a few down years.
