Alison Krauss and Union Station accepted the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album for 'Paper Airplane.' This particular award was not televised on CBS -- the actual prime time broadcast begins at 8PM ET. Instead, Krauss and the band accepted the award during the pre-telecast, which streamed online. The bulk of the awards are handed out during the online stream, so this segment is more about the awards than the performances.

This win also represented Krauss and Union Station's second award of the night, so who cares that their acceptance was only viewable online? They won and that's all that matters!

Krauss and Union Station beat out some stiff competition, including that from Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, who were nominated for 'Rare Bird Alert,' and Jim Lauderdale's ‘Reason And Rhyme: Bluegrass Songs By Robert Hunter & Jim Lauderdale.’

Congrats to Alison Krauss and Union Station on the second win of the evening at the 2012 Grammy Awards.
