Brooke Eden Takes Us ‘Behind the Curtain': Who Am I?
Brooke Eden is pulling back the curtain on what it's really like to be a rising country artist in Nashville in her new web series, Behind the Curtain With Brooke Eden. In the fourth and final episode, Eden opens up about how she wants to present herself and what she wants fans to take away from her music.
The Florida native says she doesn't ever want to try to portray herself as perfect in her songs or in the way she puts herself across.
"We're in this world where you are expected to be perfect all the time," she states in the video above, which is premiering exclusively with Taste of Country. "You're supposed to live this perfect white picket fence kind of life. And I think that's kinda what people strive for, but you get lost along the way all the time. I want people to realize that's okay, and it's more about picking yourself back up and owning your mistakes and owning your crazy, and being okay with it."
That's why Eden strives to encourage and uplift fans in her music by opening up about her highs and lows.
"Broode Eden is someone who will stand up for what she believes in and isn't afraid to be crazy," she says.
Eden released her debut EP, Welcome to the Weekend, via Red Bow Records. The project features her current single, "Act Like You Don't." Another song of Eden's titled "Diamonds" earned a spot in the TLC series Too Close to Home, and she sings the title song of the Tyler Perry-produced show as well. Eden’s "American Dreamin'" appears in the newest X-Men movie, Logan, which opened in March.
The first episode of Behind the Curtain With Brooke Eden talked about the importance of learning to play an instrument, and in the second installment she talked about moving to Nashville. The third episode talked about the process of getting her record deal.
