Billy Currington returns to familiar territory this week as he tops the country singles charts with his sexy tune 'Let Me Down Easy.'

Penned by singer-songwriter Jennifer Hanson, her songwriting hubby Mark Nesler, and Marty Dodson, the song is something that came "easy" for the writers to hash out.

"The words came together so magically," Hanson tells Taste of Country. "It was just one of those days where it literally fell out of us. It was the perfect fit between the three of us ... my song idea, Mark's melody and Marty's touch that he put on the lyrics. We are so thrilled with how it all turned out."

Behind Currington on the charts is Jason Aldean's duet with Kelly Clarkson, which held down the No. 1 position for the previous three weeks, followed by husband-wife duo Thompson Square, who hang tight at No. 3 for another week with their smash hit 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not.'

Look for Currington on the road this summer with Kenny Chesney on the Goin' Coastal Tour. The trek launched over the weekend and will run through August.
