In the "where are they now?” question of the day, country star Billy Dean has resurfaced.  We haven’t heard him on the radio for a few years now, but he’s featured in the current issue of Country Weekly, talking about his new movie.

The ‘If There Hadn’t Been You’ singer’s latest film is ‘Decision,’ a faith-based movie starring Christian music artist Natalie Grant. Dean plays Grants fireman husband who gets killed in a car wreck after falling asleep at the wheel. She is left to raise their teenage son alone, and she falls on hard times as a result. Dean says, "It’s a great story about parenting and faith."

This is not the first acting project for the country singer, who was on cable TV movies ‘A Face To Kill’ and ‘Blue Valley Songbird’ in 1999 with Dolly Parton. As for his biggest challenge playing a firefighter in this new film, Dean says, "My hair was too long. I couldn’t cut my hair for the role 'cause I was getting ready to do some musical appearances, so I had to keep sticking it all under my fireman helmet somehow. Other than that, it was great."

Dean’s currently on tour with Kenny Rogers, and their next dates are in Topeka, Kan. on April 1, Sioux Falls, S.D. on April 2 and Des Moines, Iowa on April 3.
