Carrie Underwood Has One Condition for an ‘American Idol’ Reunion
The country superstar spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday (Sept. 11), and when ET's Nischelle Turner mentioned that American Idol Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson had recently reunited the iconic reality singing competition's original judging panel of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson for her new daytime talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Underwood was intrigued.
"An Idol reunion?" Underwood said. "I see all of those judges. I've never seen them together since I was on the show, but that's pretty incredible."
Forgotten American Idol Auditions of the Stars
Her subsequent trip to Hollywood marked the first time she'd ever flown on an airplane. She dominated the show with a series of strong performances and shot to fame after winning Season 4 of Idol, and she and Clarkson are by far the most successful recording artists to launch their career via the show. Underwood went on to say that she wouldn't be averse to participating in a reunion of her own.
"As long as they don't judge me," she joked. "I'm down if nobody critiques anything."
Underwood is currently on the road on her Cry Pretty Tour 360. The road trek launched in May, and it will run through Oct. 31 before wrapping up with a show in Detroit.
