Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson Hit the Red Carpet Together at 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards [Pictures]
The superstars greeted each other with delight on the red carpet, posing for photographers at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles as part of the events surrounding the awards. The 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles Friday night, and both former Idol champs were among the honorees. Underwood was on hand to accept the Hero Award, while Clarkson won the Icon Award. Click through the gallery above to see the singers cutting up together.
Clarkson rocketed to superstardom after winning the first-ever season of American Idol in 2002, and Underwood launched her career when she won the fourth season in 2005, making her the first country music champion from the show. After an entertainment website asked readers to vote on which one was the most iconic Idol winner of all time in April, the singers exchanged mutual admiration tweets, with Underwood saying she wished "more publications would just celebrate women’s success without pitting them against each other."
Carrie Underwood's Post-Idol House Is Surprisingly Modest
According to People, Friday night's red carpet photo opp marked the first time Underwood and Clarkson have appeared in public together since that exchange. Underwood recently released a new single, "Cry Pretty," and she also hit the stage with Ludacris at the 2018 Radio Disney Awards for the television debut of their collaboration, "The Champion."
The 2018 Radio Disney Awards are set to air on the Disney Channel on Saturday night (June 23) at 8PM ET.
