Carrie Underwood’s ‘Good Girl’ Goes Platinum
You can't keep a 'Good Girl' down. Congrats to country queen Carrie Underwood on yet another platinum certification, this time for 'Good Girl,' the first single from 'Blown Away.' According to a press release from Underwood's reps, the song has been certified platinum by the RIAA, meaning it has sold more than 1 million digital downloads.
Furthermore, the platinum certification of 'Good Girl' marks the 10th platinum or multiplatinum digital single of the singer's career. Going platinum is getting to be old hat for Underwood.
If you needed more proof that 'Good Girl' is a hit, look no further than the song's win at the 2012 CMT Music Awards for Video of the Year.
There could be more accolades in Underwood's future, as she is up for Choice Female Country Artist at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards. Voting is open now –and Underwood fans aged 13 through 19 can vote once per day in each category- by going here. The awards show broadcasts on July 22 on FOX, so throw her some votes so she can have another reason to celebrate in 2012.
'Blown Away' will be the next single from the album. We're going to predict that it'll be the 11th platinum or multiplatinum digital single of Carrie's booming career. Check out our review of the song here.
Underwood popped up quite a bit in the press earlier this week when she expressed support for marriage equality, too.
