Chris Stapleton is officially the voice of Kentucky, his home state. The "Broken Halos" narrates a new series of advertisements by the Kentucky Department of Tourism.

Born in Lexington, Stapleton was raised in the town of Staffordsville, Ky., and has since become one of music's most prominent stars. He returns to his roots in two new TV commercials promoting the Bluegrass State.

One titled "Kentucky Moments" has Stapleton sharing the tastes of the state: "It's when you take that first bite, savoring the unforgettable taste of Kentucky and you realize, it's better in the Bluegrass," as images of families around the table and a master distiller walks through rows of bourbon barrels flash across the screen.

Another — "Kentucky Moments: Difference of the Bluegrass" — also focuses on the food and flavor of Kentucky. "It starts with ingredients, rooted in flavor. Recipes that come from the land and the heart ... A blend of past and present, tradition and creation, in places celebrating and places to discover," he reads over shots of appetizing plates and family and friends bonding over a meal.

"Kentucky Moments: Taste of the Bluegrass" follows suit. "It's the taste of fresh, straight from the Kentucky land flavors teasing, satisfying. It's recipes passed down, each word, an expression of love," Stapleton says as the Kentucky landscape rolls across the screen.

"The passion, sincerity and tone that Chris conveys through his music are a perfect match for the stories we want to tell," Kristen Branscum, Kentucky Department of Tourism commissioner, says on behalf of the superstar in a press release. "We are proud to be working with a world-renowned Kentucky artist as the voice of this campaign that will invite people from across the world to his home state."

On the music front, Stapleton is set to make his Farm Aid debut in 2018 — it's a revered event that raises money for family farmers across the country. Event founders Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp are also scheduled to perform, along with Kacey MusgravesMargo PriceSturgill Simpson and more.
