For the first time in its more than three-decade history, Farm Aid will be heading to Connecticut for its 2018 event. Along with Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews, the festival will host a fresh lineup of some of the most critically acclaimed names in country music.

Chris Stapleton makes a first-time appearance, joining Kacey Musgraves, Sturgill Simpson, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real and Particle Kid for the 33rd annual installment of the event, which will be held at Xfinity Theater in Hartford on Sept. 22. More performers are to be announced.

Farm Aid is far from just a live music festival. The mission each year is to help family farmers thrive throughout the country. Since its inception in 1985, Farm Aid has raised more than $50 million for family farmers.

“Family farmers are the backbone of our country,” Nelson says in a statement. “But today, they are endangered. Whether we live in cities like Hartford or the rural areas of New England, each of us has the power to create positive, lasting change in our farm and food system and strengthen farm families to help them stay on the land for generations to come.”

Tickets for Farm Aid 2018 will go on sale Friday (June 29) at 10 AM ET through Live Nation and by phone at (800) 745-3000. A limited number of presale tickets will go on sale beginning at 10AM ET Tuesday (June 26) at farmaid.org/festival.
