'Voices' singer Chris Young had a great year in 2010, and it looks like 2011 is following the same trajectory for the 'Nashville Star.' He's nominated for a Grammy and has made a New Year's resolution to cut back on pizza. He also stays fit, besides trimming down his pizza intake, by fraternizing with his tourmates and playing a hearty game of basketball.

In a recent call-in interview with WYRK, Young discussed all these topics. Of his Grammy nod for 'Gettin' You Home,' he said, "I am still trying to figure out if that's real or not. It's so cool and it's my first Grammy nomination, I am really excited." He will be attending this year's extravaganza in person so he can pick up his award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance if he wins.

When asked to compare the feeling of being nominated for a Grammy versus a CMA, Young expressed no preference and diplomatically said, "I don't know. They're completely different. If you want to flip a coin and give me one or the other, I am fine with either one."

As for his New Year's resolution to cut back on pizza consumption, Young did clarify that is he cutting back, not cutting it out. He did cop to chowing down on just one slice so far this year, so he's sticking to his New Year's promise.

Young also dished about Josh Turner, deeming him a "sneaky, sneaky basketball player." When the pair toured with Alan Jackson, they called each other out, good-naturedly, in interviews, about their hoops skills, and they would play together on the tour.

Young revealed that his crew started out by being easygoing and gentlemanly, careful not to hit anyone too hard on the court. But Turner? He is a man possessed when it comes to hoops. "When Josh gets the ball, he runs straight at me, like full contact, playing football with no pads and a basketball. It was on. We loved it and played every day."

Ah, the camaraderie of tourmates!
