Craig Campbell may only be two singles deep into his self-titled debut album, but the singer-songwriter is already looking ahead to his next project, slated for release in 2012. "We should be starting the new record in the spring," Campbell reveals to Taste of Country.

Rather than feeling pressure or stress to find songs to record, Campbell is at ease with a large catalog of tunes already in his back pocket. "The good thing about taking so long to get a record deal was I was able to write songs for 10 years," he says. "So I have enough material for three or four records. Right now I'm just in the process of listening to all of the songs that I've ever written. Going back [through them, it's like], 'Wow ... I totally forgot about that song!' I'm ready. I'm so excited. I've got so many good songs that I'm ready for everybody to hear."

Fans all over the place have been hearing Campbell's music heavily over the past several months, especially when the hot newcomer was opening shows on the 2011 Country Throwdown Tour over the summer.

"Probably one of the coolest thing about being on that tour was actually getting to hang out and tour with my buddies," says Campbell. "[Now] about every four shows, I end up doing a show with [Throwdown tourmate] Randy Houser. We get to hang out a lot. We spent six weeks together [on the Throwdown tour]. It was almost like a little bit of a separation anxiety ... 'I miss Randy!' Lee Brice [who was also on the Throwdown tour], we're good friends. He actually has a song on my record. That's the coolest thing about that tour, but at the same time, it's also the hardest part about seeing it go ... I don't get to see those guys as often as we were."

Campbell's current single at country radio is 'Fish,' which is currently just outside the Top 20 on Billboard's country singles chart.
