Country Artists We’ve Lost in 2012: Dick Clark
While Dick Clark never released his own country single, his influence on country music and the world of entertainment at large is unmatched. Dick Clark Productions backed many of the most famous awards shows, including the ACM Awards from Las Vegas. Of course, he also greeted many a country singer on 'American Bandstand,' and later during 'New Year's Rockin' Eve.' It will be strange not to see him counting down the year's end on Dec. 31, 2012. He died after suffering a heart attack in April 2012.
