The final Round 1 matchup in the 2013 March Bandness competition is a spicy one. The Dixie Chicks -- arguably the greatest group of the late '90s and early '00s -- are up against a legendary group in the Charlie Daniels Band. Musically, both acts draw from bluegrass and traditional country to create their sound. That may be where the similarities end, however.

Who should move on to face either the Judds or Lady Antebellum? Fans will consider the distinguished resumes of both artists. Both have won Grammys, and the trio of Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire would almost need to bring a U-Haul truck to CMA and ACM Awards shows 13 years ago. They picked up Entertainer of the Year awards at both -- something the CDB never did.

Daniels and his band have the bigger hit in 'Devil Went Down to Georgia,' and over the last two decades they've toured relentlessly while maintaining a great stage show. That's usually the first thing to go as an artist ages, but not for this group. It's been a few years since the Dixie Chicks toured. Will longevity play a role in determining this matchup's winner?

Fans will decide this round (and every round) in this 16-team battle to determine the best band of all time. You’re allowed to vote once every hour. Any voter found to be outpacing that rule will be deemed ineligible, forfeiting their votes. Voting for the Round 1 matchups will end on Sunday March 17 at 11:59PT ET.

The overall March Bandness winner for 2013 be announced on April 8, the day of the NCAA national championship basketball game.
