Garth Brooks Sends Love to Loretta Lynn: ‘Get Out of There Soon, Honey’
Country music was rattled last week, when news broke that living legend Loretta Lynn had suffered a stroke. While she is expected to make a full recovery, many country artists shared their prayers and well wishes for Lynn, including Garth Brooks.
Brooks kicked off his weekly video series, Inside Studio G, on Monday night (May 8) with a message directly to Lynn.
"The Queen of queens, Loretta Lynn. Please know, our love is with you, our strength is with you, and our money is on you," Brooks said softly. "I know you're already running the place there in ICU. All of our love and all of our strength is with you. There's a lot of flowers waiting and a lot of love waiting for when you get out of there. Get out there soon, honey. Get back to playing music. We miss you already. I love you very, very much."
Lynn had a stroke on May 4 at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Her representatives have offered no further comment beyond what can be found on her website and Facebook, which states that the singer "is responsive and expected to make a full recovery." Lynn's sister Crystal Gayle, has expressed her family’s appreciation for the warm thoughts from fans and fellow singers, saying that they "hope for a speedy recovery."
Lynn is said to be resting in a Nashville hospital. All upcoming shows have been canceled.
