George Strait Hopes to Go 60 for 60
Are you hoping 'Give It All We Got Tonight' becomes George Strait's next No. 1 single? Strait's team is giving fans the chance to help make the country music icon's current radio offering his 60th chart-topping classic -- just before the singer turns 61 years old on May 18.
As part of the 60 for 60 campaign, fans are encouraged to share news of the effort by posting the logo or the link to the official website on social media platforms across the web. The campaign was designed to help conclude Strait's road career on a high note as he tours the country on his highly-anticipated Cowboy Rides Away farewell tour.
'Give It All We Got Tonight' current sits just inside the Top 20 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart. The track has less than three months to reach the top spot to succeed his 2008 chart-topper, 'River of Love,' as his newest No. 1 song.
“It’s been a hard decision for me to make, but as far as the touring goes, I’ve decided that I’m not going to tour anymore after these next two years,” Strait told reporters last year during an announcement for the tour. Strait does plan to continue to record albums, but will no longer promote the projects with proper tours.
'Give It All We Got Tonight' is the first single from Strait's upcoming 28th studio album, due out later this year.
