James Barker Band's "Keep It Simple" video is a throwback to, well, a simpler time.

Like hopping in a time machine, the Canadian country band transport us to the 1950s, where we find a family crowded around a black-and-white tube, taking in some low-key entertainment. On the screen, we see the James Barker Band, all snazzed up and dapper in suits, performing "Keep It Simple" while the kids dance and sway on their living room carpet.

The music video was directed by Ben Knechtel and brings out the band's playfulness and sheer comedy.

"Let's keep it simple / Here at the house / Dance in the kitchen / Straight to kissin' on the couch / Let's pop a bottle / Let's drink it slow / Nothin' to do, nowhere to be / Nowhere to go," the chorus rings.

Unbeknownst to the kids, their parents are getting hot and heavy, moving their passion down the hall and out the front door. The music has made them young again, and they can't keep their hands off each other except to get themselves to the television studio, where they take in James Barker Band's live performance.

"Keep It Simple" is just the latest single from a group that has gained more than 35 million streams in their career, with four Top 10 singles on the Canadian Country Radio and three gold-certified singles to their name. They're truly bringing Canadian Country music to the forefront, having had the most-spun song in both 2017 and 2018.

The James Barker Band first hit the country music scene when they won the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase in 2015, shortly after signing with Universal Music Canada. The band is set to cross the pond to perform at C2C Festival in London this March.
