Jamie Lynn Spears’ Daughter Maddie Expected to Fully Recover
The outlook is good for Jamie Lynn Spears' 8-year-old daughter, Maddie. Less than one week after an ATV accident on family property, the little girl is heading home from the hospital the same way she got there: via helicopter.
A photo shared on Jamie Lynn Spears' Instagram page marks the occasion. A family representative tells People the young girl is breathing well and interacting with family. There's been no word on wheter Maddie sustained any serious injuries after rolling an ATV into a pond and being submerged for several minutes.
Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children's Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover. Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed.
Jamie Lynn Spears' husband, Jamie Watson, also shared the same photo and message on his Instagram page. Maddie is the daughter of Jamie Lynn and previous boyfriend Casey Aldridge. She's also the niece of pop singer Britney Spears, who took to social media to thank everyone for support and update fans.
Maddie was injured on (Feb. 5) when the ATV she was driving crashed into a pond while she was attempting to avoid running over a drainage ditch. Her parents attempted to free her from the vehicle but couldn't. Emergency personnel were on the scene in minutes to rescue her after she was trapped by her seatbelt underwater. She was then airlifted to a local hospital.
