Jason Aldean to Kick Off First Stadium Tour With Historic Fenway Park Performance

Jason Aldean will make history in 2013, both in his career and at one of baseball's historic ballparks. The singer announced on Thursday (Oct. 18) that he will kick off his first-ever stadium tour as the first-ever country music performer to play at Boston's Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox.

The concert will take place on July 13, 2013 and will be the first show of the singer's big Night Train 2013 Tour. Fenway Park, which first opened in 1912, is the oldest Major League Baseball stadium still in use.

The Fenway Park concert promises an electric lineup, including Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett. Aldean is also booked at the note-worthy Wrigley Field in Chicago on July 20, 2013.

The singer's fifth album, 'Night Train,' released earlier this week, and is expected to debut atop the Billboard 200. His earlier releases, 'Jason Aldean,' 'Relentless' and 'Wide Open' have all earned platinum status, with 'My Kinda Party' selling over 2 million copies and earning platinum status two times over.

With his first stadium tour, Aldean's steady career trajectory will place him into a category with few contemporaries -- only Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney have consistently played to sold-out stadiums in the past few years.

This big announcement will certainly make CMA voters look even harder at Aldean, who is nominated for the top prize, Entertainer of the Year, at the Country Music Awards on Nov. 1.
