Jason Aldean lit the CMA stage on fire, literally, with his performance of his current single, "Gonna Know We Were Here," on Wednesday night (Nov. 4).

The country-rocker did what he does best by putting on a rocking performance of the track, and brought the whole set ablaze while he did so. His microphone was literally on fire, in only a way that Aldean could make happen.

This performance was comparable to what we've seen from the singer in the past. The party anthem seemed to bring the show to life with its high energy and heavy guitar presence.

"Gonna Know We Were Here" is the fourth single from Aldean's most recent album, Old Boots New Dirt. That project also earned him a nomination at this year's award ceremony for Album of the Year.

Old Boots New Dirt came out just last year, but that hasn't kept him from already being back in the studio to bring his fans new music very soon.

Aldean tells Taste of Country that his wife, Brittany Kerr, wasn't a big fan of this song. But you couldn't tell there was any disapproval of the song by the looks of his performance. Aldean also hinted that his new project will feature more rocking songs like it.

Aldean was also nominated in Taste of Country's Fan Choice Awards for Tour of the Year, as well as Artist of the Year.
