Producers of the CMT Music Awards proved they aren't afraid to add a splash of MTV to the telecast, despite Wynonna's insistance otherwise at the beginning of Wednesday night's broadcast. Jason Aldean closed the show with two songs, one featuring fellow Georgian Ludacris on Aldean's current hit song 'Dirt Road Anthem.' It made for great television, but it's doubtful country fans will be sending the album version of the song to the recycle bin in favor of this duet, which is available for download on iTunes as of today.

It's the exact same song, aside from Ludacris's re-tooled second verse. "Man I'm feeling like a million dollars / Stacked up all hundred dollar bills / Got a whole six-pack on ice / But I'm ridin' on the hottest wheels," the rapper begins before name-dropping a few country stars.  "Turn it up and let the speakers scream for Mr. Aldean / But I call him Jason / Reminiscing on the good times / Water balloons and super soakers / Wet T-shirts, women in bikinis / Kenny Rogers penny loafers."

It's a good effort from Ludacris; in fact, one could argue it's more genuine than Aldean's hip-hop stylings on the song. There just aren't enough fans shared between the two to make the remix of this song anything more than a one night novelty. The pairing was a head scratcher, but unlike similarly displaced celebrities -- who wasn't thinking, "When will Ron White and Justin Bieber finally work together"? -- they pulled it off. But the two would be best to leave well enough alone and part ways.
