Jason Aldean Talks ‘Tattoos on This Town’ and His Own Tattoos
Jason Aldean is blazing up the country chart once again with his latest single, 'Tattoos on This Town.' The tune was penned by hit songwriters Neil Thrasher, Wendell Mobley and Michael Dulaney, and is the lead track on Aldean's latest album, 'My Kinda Party.' Aldean recently wrapped the music video for the song, which inches its way closer to the Top 30 after spending less than a month on the charts.
The video will capture the essence of the song, which is about remembering back on the years in life when things were much less complex.
"It's about kind of reminiscing on the days when you were a teenager and really didn't have any cares about anything," Aldean tells Taste of Country. "You were just kind of having fun and growing up wherever it was that you grew up, and doing the things you did that kind of helped shape you as an adult. I think a lot of times you don't realize while you are a teenager that those are going to be some of the best years of your life. It's not until you get a little bit older, and you start looking back and start remembering those times from then on."
With a song titled 'Tattoos on This Town,' it leads to the burning question: Does Aldean have any tats?
"I do ... I have two," he says with a grin. "I've got one up on my shoulder, and I've got one on my forearm. It's got my daughters' names on it. Those are my only two for now. [But] yeah ... I would never release a song that talks about tattoos without at least having one. You can't do that!"
