Country songwriter Joe South wrote hits for Lynn Anderson, Elvis Presley and Billy Joe Royal during his long career in the music business. His biggest hit was 'Rose Garden,' a late '60s hit for Anderson, but he also scored one of his own for 'Games People Play' in 1969. In addition to being a songwriter, South -- born Joe Souter in Atlanta, Ga. in 1970 -- was an accomplished studio musician. The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer died in September after a period of failing health.
