If laughter really is the best medicine, then Joey + Rory singer Joey Feek has the best doctor in the world — her not-quite-2-year-old daughter, Indiana.

Feek has been in decline recently, as her battle with Stage 4 cancer comes to an end. The disease returned in June 2015, a year after Feek first underwent surgery, and despite more surgery, punishing chemotherapy and radiation, doctors have told Joey and her husband and singing partner, Rory Feek, that there is nothing more they can do. She has been in hospice care in her hometown of Alexandria, Ind., in recent months, and Rory recently shared that she has taken a turn for the worse, admitting for the first time that his wife is going to die.

Despite that, the couple continue to face the ordeal with the same faith and resolute positive focus that they have displayed all along. In a new update to his blog, This Life I Live, Rory shares some adorable pictures of Indy, clad appropriately in a tiny little cheerleading outfit emblazoned with the word "Indiana" across the front. He bought the outfit on impulse, which turned out to be a great purchase, he explains.

“I don’t know where Indy gets her personality from. Joey says it’s from me. I’m not sure I believe her," he writes. "But no matter … one thing is for sure, our little one has one of the most expressive little faces I’ve ever seen."

Joey has been through a rough patch, and hoping to cheer her up, Rory brought Indy in and sat her on her mother's lap. "In a matter of minutes, Indy had her mama laughing out loud…" he shares.

"I think our baby is continuing to cheer her mama on in her fight — the best way she knows how…"

"By making her smile."

Rory recently revealed that Joey has set a goal to live until February so that she can see both the Grammy Awards — in which Joey + Rory are nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance — and Indiana’s second birthday.
