Kelsea Ballerini Strikes Gold With ‘Peter Pan’
Kelsea Ballerini didn’t need any pixie dust to make her song “Peter Pan” sparkle. She’s already gone Gold with the ballad about a boy who just wouldn’t grow up.
The singer-songwriter has earned more than 500,000 sales and streams of the song in the U.S. alone. Worldwide, the tune has racked up 17.5 million streams on Spotify.
Written by Ballerini, Jesse Lee and Forest Glen Whitehead, the song serves as her third single from her debut album The First Time, following the No. 1 hits “Love Me Like You Mean It” and “Dibs.” Ballerini was surprised with her RIAA plaque after she stepped offstage at the Grand Ole Opry on Aug. 10 by her label, Black River Entertainment.
Known for keeping a close connection with her fans, Ballerini quickly posted a video on Twitter thanking them for their support of the song.
“It’s my favorite song that I’ve gotten to share with you so far, and the fact that you’ve embraced it has meant the world to me,” she says, beaming. “Thank you for changing my life every day."
The artist recently announced her first run of headlining tour dates for her First Time Tour, kicking off Oct. 21 in Houston, Texas and hitting 10 cities total. Special guest Cam will be appearing on the final two tour dates, with additional support from Carly Pearce, Morgan Evans, Levi Hummon and Jacob Davis on select dates.
"One of the highlights of touring has been meeting fans and creating new relationships along the way. And for that reason, I was inspired to put together my first headlining tour. I can’t wait to get up close and personal with the people who have made the last few years so incredible. See you this fall!” Ballerini said when the announcement was made.
The tour wraps up Dec. 9-10 in Las Vegas with Cam. Tickets are available now.
