Lainey Wilson brought a friend on stage and recalled an under-appreciated country classic during opening night of her Whirlwind Tour on Thursday (Aug. 14).

She also let the Impact Dance team share her stage for a high energy dance performance.

  • Lainey Wilson's Whirlwind Tour began at the PHX Arena in Phoenix, Ariz.
  • She'll be on the road until Nov. 8 in Orlando, Fla.
  • Ernest and Kaitlin Butts are opening the first leg of the tour.

Midway through the show, Ernest joined Wilson for a version of his song "Would If I Could." The ACM Entertainer of the Year also brought out Impact Dance to help her cover Don Williams' "Tulsa Time," a hit from 1978.

This summer, Wilson has been closing shows with "4X4XU," but USA Today shares that she closed with "Heart Like a Truck." In total, she played 10 of the 14 songs from her Whirlwind album, released in August of 2024.

"Tulsa Time" looks to be her cover song. In 2023 and 2024, she hit the road with a strong cover of "What's Up?" by 4 Non Blondes.

The first weekend of Wilson's tour will wrap Friday night (Aug. 15) in Denver.
