Lauren Alaina Sifts Through Memories in New ‘Like My Mother Does’ Video

Lauren Alaina's 'Like My Mother Does' video is finally here, and the 'American Idol' runner-up has beaten winner Scotty McCreery to the punch by releasing her video first. She looks radiant in her music video debut, with big, bouncy, voluminous hair. In the clip for the emotional song, Alaina sifts through the memories of her life revolving around her mother, which consist of home videos and photos that are projected onto household items in the country style home where Alaina is performing for most of the clip. She is sitting on the front porch, laying on a bed and standing in the kitchen as she belts out her lines with her signature passion. She also thumbs through pictures, showing off her acting skills, as well.

The archival footage is of Alaina, as we see her dancing, frolicking in the ocean and wearing swimmies on her arms, and engaging in lots of fun activities with mom. Alaina is a spitting image of the woman who birthed her, and this video gives us an in-depth look at a little girl growing up under the wing of her mother.

It's autobiographical through and through, and while we already know the song is destined to become a mother-son dance song at weddings in the future, we love that the video gives us an intimate look at Alaina when she was knee-high and in diapers.
