LeAnn Rimes Is Engaged to Eddie Cibrian
This Christmas was a magical one for LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, who are now engaged. Rimes, 28, and Cibrian, 37, reportedly celebrated their happy announcement over the holiday weekend with friends and family in Los Angeles.
"Yes, they were engaged over the holidays and are very happy," Rimes' rep, breaking the news to PEOPLE, reveals.
"The couple wanted an antique feel, but a new ring," a source adds, saying that the two -- who met while filming the Lifetime movie 'Northern Lights' -- were spotted on a Malibu beach today, with Rimes wearing a sparkling platinum ring featuring a five-carat oval diamond.
The engagement isn't one that is hugely surprising. Rimes and Cibrian have had a publicized romance, both leaving their former longterm spouses to be together. Rumors have been circulating about their plans to wed since November, though Rimes denied the reports at the time.
"So funny, my dear publicist is the same rep for Natalie Portman and me. So much for his vacation!" Rimes tweets, referring to both her engagement news as well as that of actress Natalie Portman, who also announced today that she is getting married (and expecting a child).
Rimes was previously married to Dean Sheremet, and their divorce was finalized in June. Since then, he's gotten engaged to photographer Sarah Silver. Rimes' new marriage will make her stepmother to Cibrian's children, 7-year-old Mason and 3-year-old Jake. Her next album, 'Lady and Gentlemen' -- a cover album of country songs -- is scheduled to be released in March 2011.
