On Sunday, Dec. 19, LeAnn Rimes took to the stage for a special Christmas performance with the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles. The Advocate reports that the group holds a Christmas show every year, and Rimes performed with them in order to celebrate. Her boyfriend Eddie Cibrian, as well as members of her family, were in attendance to support Rimes and the gay community.

Rimes first came out on stage dressed in a sexy Santa-inspired outfit, while the Gay Men's Chorus performed alongside her, dressed as elves. Rimes even tweeted solo pictures of her costume as well as a group shot of "Mrs. Claus" and her "elves." She and the chorus members sang the holiday classic 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' and Mariah Carey's famous Christmas tune 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.'

After finishing the Christmas songs, Rimes changed into a less revealing outfit and paid her respects to the teenagers in the gay and lesbian community who have recently committed suicide. She started off by giving a short speech, although she struggled to hold her composure towards the end. Rimes burst into tears and said, "We should all be loved for exactly who we are.” She and the male choir then sang a moving rendition of Bette Midler's 'The Rose' in remembrance.

Rimes later tweeted, "Wow, a beautiful night! My heart broke and I almost couldn't sing as I spoke about the young gay men and women who have taken their lives this year. It Gets Better!!!!" 'It Gets Better' refers to a video featuring the Gay Men's Chorus of LA singing the song 'True Colors' as a means of urging younger members of the gay community to be proud and to stay strong.
