The world was shaken up by a shooting over the weekend at an Orlando, Fla. night club that killed 50 people. An act of terrorism, the tragedy has been called the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

Country acts like Little Big Town shared their reaction to the horrific news while onstage at a CMA Fest press conference Sunday night (June 12). As Karen Fairchild explained, the band would perform their new song "Miracle" off their latest album Wanderlust in hopes to provide some healing.

"Music is the ultimate healer and we will not let the haters destroy what we love and enjoy," Fairchild told reporters backstage before the band's performance at Nashville's Nissan Stadium (quote via the Tennessean). "We will not live in fear of this. Tonight is going to be a celebration of life and love and harmony and we're going to remember those lives that were lost and we are going to celebrate them tonight. We're not going to let the negative tell us what we're gonna do."

During their special performance, Little Big Town were accompanied by a gospel choir and producer Pharrell Williams.

"Miracle" is one of eight tracks off Little Big Town's experimental release Wanderlust.

“It’s not a country record,” Fairchild tells Billboard. “And it’s not like anything we’ve ever done. It’s fun to be spontaneous and put it out there to the fans, because we want to, and not to overthink it, but just because it has brought us a lot of joy, and we think it will for them as well. So why not? We’re going with our gut and putting it out there. It’s just music, you know? Hopefully it’ll bring a lot of smiles and dancing to people.”
