Little Big Town Win Vocal Group of the Year at 2017 ACM Awards
Little Big Town pocketed the award for Vocal Group of the Year at the 2017 ACM Awards for the 3rd year in a row.
Getting hugs from the guys from Rascal Flatts as they made their way to the stage, LBT humbly accepted the award, praising the previous performers in the process. "I just want to be in Lady Antebellum's band," member Kimberly Schlapman exclaimed, with Karen Fairchild agreeing, calling the trio's performance of "You Look Good" "electric."
Thanking their families and and calling the award an "honor," Fairchild joked that they needed to rush home to catch the finale of HBO hit show Big Little Lies, starring Keith Urban's wife Nicole Kidman. The group also thanked country music and its loyal fans. "You give us life, we love you," Fairchild praised. The hit making quintet beat out fellow nominees Eli Young Band, Old Dominion, Rascal Flatts and Lady A.
The group was presented the award by fellow country star Jake Owen and Rob Stone of radio station WYCD in Detroit, Michigan. "They never fail to deliver the music we all love," Owen said about the nominees. Little Big Town has won the award for Vocal Group of the Year a total of four times.
Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley Lady Antebellum, Urban, Carrie Underwood and more of country music's hottest acts all took the stage at the 52nd annual awards show. The show kicked off with a performance of some of the genre's chart-topping hits in 2016 and 2017.
