Loretta Lynn Hosting Motorcycle Festival, Her First New Appearance Since Stroke
After nearly four decades of hosting the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Amateur National Championship, Loretta Lynn has decided to host her own motorcycle event.
Loretta Lynn Ranch's Tennessee Motorcycle and Music Revival — Sept. 28 through Oct. 1, 2017 — is the icon's first new show announcement since suffering a stroke in May.
Motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to Lynn's ranch for live music, food trucks and camping for four days, and are encouraged to ride through some of Tennessee's most beautiful scenery along the way.
“We’ve been having motorcycles here forever with the AMA, and all year long thousands of people riding in to camp at the Ranch," Lynn says in a press release. "This is what we do here, and I’m so excited for this new one to happen.”
As part of the event, there will be 22 different motorcycle rides set up throughout Tennessee. The rides will culminate with Lynn and others performing on stage at the Ranch on Oct. 1. Money raised from the event will benefit Mission 22, an organization that provides treatment programs for PTSD and TBI while raising awareness on the tragic issue of veteran suicide.
“The goal of this event is to feature music representative of the incredible musicians, songwriters and performers of the area and to fulfill what many motorcycle enthusiasts have been asking for — a destination event in a unique location that celebrates the rhythm of a great road trip,” adds event spokesperson Tayla Lynn, a relative of the country music icon. “While motorcyclists know what it takes to have a good ride, adding a great destination can make for the perfect trip. Ride the rolling hills of Tennessee, visit the area’s unique attractions, and come back to Loretta’s Ranch for fun and great music with fellow riders.”
