Matt Gary Releases High-Spirited ‘It’s on You’ Lyric Video [Exclusive Premiere]

Matt Gary gets fun and flirty in the lyric video for his new country single, "It's on You."

The track is fast-paced and infectious from the very first note, setting a pulsing tempo that drives the pop-country song forward through a sparse first verse before building to a big chorus. The lyrics are playfully suggestive.

"I know that we just met / But you can't be tugging on my shirt like that / Without me thinkin' 'bout what's coming next / Yeah you're teasin' me, leadin' me on," Gary sings, before letting his romantic interest know that whatever comes next is her choice.

“It’s on you / Whatever I’m feeling / It’s on you / Wherever we’re going,” the chorus says. “You’re calling the shots / Don’t act like you’re not / Making me come unglued / Girl, you’re coming in hot / If you don’t mean it, stop / Before this night gets where it’s going to.”

The song brings together Gary's country influences like Tim McGraw and Keith Urban with pop influences that include Maroon 5, Jack Johnson and John Mayer.

"I’m pumped to have “It’s on You” be the lead-off single for my new music,” Gary tells The Boot. “I’ve been in Nashville awhile, really working to develop my sound. My producer, Ilya Toshinskiy, and I feel we have created something that’s unique. It's a song that you just want to turn up loud from the first beat. I dig the way the storyline puts the girl in charge, makes her sound confident … I like that!”
