Confirmed: Michelle Pfeiffer to Star in Upcoming ‘Yellowstone’ Sequel, ‘The Madison’
Michelle Pfeiffer has been confirmed to star in an upcoming sequel to Yellowstone. The award-winning actress will star in and also executive produce the new show for Paramount Network, under the title The Madison.
According to a press release, The Madison "is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana."
The confirmation of the new series comes one week after TV Line reported that Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell and former Suits star Patrick J. Adams were in negotiations for the show, which was originally titled 2024. Beau Garrett (Firefly Lane) is also reportedly in the running for the series, which is tentatively set to begin filming later in August in Montana, New York and Texas.
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace," says Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios. “She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, The Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”

According to TV Line, The Madison will follow "wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law’s tragic deaths in a plane crash."
Yellowstone stars Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and Luke Grimes were originally rumored to reprise their roles in the planned sequel, but it's not clear if that's still the case. Matthew McConaughey was long rumored to head up the new show, but he appears to no longer be attached to the project.
Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 is set to premiere on Paramount Network on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 8PM ET, and the new episodes will bring the series to an end.
Paramount has not yet revealed a premiere date for The Madison.
