Morgan Evans Closes CMA Fest on New Radio Disney Country Stage
Morgan Evans wrapped up his 2019 CMA Fest by giving a performance on the Radio Disney Country Stage – and there was a surprise ending.
The “Kiss Somebody” singer performed a set that featured classic pop and rock hits and his own original songs. An enthusiastic crowd heard him sing a brand new verse on one song from his Things That We Drink To album, and heard him explain how a song called “Dance With Me” was the first he wrote for his now-wife, Kelsea Ballerini. Montell Jordan's “This Is How We Do It” and Queen’s “We Will Rock You” were mixed into the Australian country singer's set. He performed solo with the aid of a guitar loop pedal and closed the show by shooting confetti into his audience.
Country duo LoCash were introduced during Day 2, courtesy of Major League Baseball pitcher Ryan Dempster. The World Series champ actually let Preston Brust wear his ring after Brust joked he should get one for performing just prior to the Boston Red Sox championship-winning game. Like many of the acts, they mixed covers in with original songs and visited with fans afterward.
A list of other country singers took the Radio Disney Country Stage during the 2019 CMA Fest, including Alana Springsteen, Tenille Townes, Bailey Bryan and Jessie James Decker.
2019 marked Radio Disney Country’s fourth year at CMA Fest, and they're expanding their Nashville presence by opening a new studio space on Music Row. That's where 2017 Taste of Country RISER Kalie Shorr and Savannah Keyes will record daily Let the Girls Play features for the network. Interviews, performances and more content will also be captured on site.
