Country Duo Spoofs Nordstrom With Kelsea Ballerini Parody ‘Muddy Pants’ [Watch]
Twitter users aren't the only ones lampooning Nordstrom's decision to sell expensive jeans with fake mud on them. Country duo Williams Honor have written a song about the bizarre fashion statement, set to the tune of Kelsea Ballerini's "Peter Pan."
The duo appeared on the Ty, Kelly & Chuck this week, where they performed a new song they have written titled "Muddy Pants."
The lyrics are a hilarious take on Ballerini's third No. 1 hit: "The shirt, the watch, the hat, the shoes / Yeah, you almost had it / You drove yourself up to the mall to find some jeans that match it / Then you picked me up seven / What the hell you wearing?" they sing in the verses.
Nordstrom has been selling the Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans for $425, which comes to nearly $500 with tax. And while Twitter users have mercilessly lampooned the duds, USA Today reports that the stores can't keep them in stock, though the article did not cite actual sales figures.
Best Reactions to Those Awful Mud Jeans
Williams Honor members Reagan Richards and Gordon Brown clearly side with the majority on Twitter, singing in the chorus, "You're just a fool, boy / You wanna take me out to dance / You're just a fool, boy / You look like you pooped your pants."
See the side-splitting parody in the video above.
Ballerini herself weighed in on the re-written song via Twitter, posting, "This is amazing."
Williams Honor hail from Asbury Park, N.J. Their debut single, "Send It to Me," is currently at country radio.
