Reba McEntire Says Pake Is Recovering, But Still Unconscious After Stroke
"To give you an update on Pake, he is resting and recovering. He is still unconscious and the doctors have asked that we keep his room as quiet as possible so he can continue to rest. We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers," the "Going Out Like That" hitmaker posted to her social media accounts Monday evening.
McEntire previously reached out to her fans to ask for prayers after Pake's stroke last week.
“My big brother, Pake, had back surgery on Thursday. Although the surgery went well, he had a stroke later that evening," she revealed Saturday (May 16). “The stroke caused blood on the brain and swelling ... He is currently in ICU, stable and recovering. We really appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. We will keep you all posted. Keep sending your prayers! Thanks a bunch!”
Although not as famous as his younger sister, Pake McEntire was a talented singer in his own right. He hit No. 5 with his song "Savin' My Love for You," which was featured on his 1986 debut album. He netted several other hits during his time with RCA, including "Heart to Heart," a duet with the more well-known McEntire sibling. In more recent years, Pake provided background vocals for Reba before retiring from the music industry to work on his ranch.
