Scotty McCreery is a man with many layers, and he lays it all out on the table in his new song, "In Between."

A pleasant banjo maps out the song's melody. McCreery has found a happy medium in his life, confessing that he enjoys a little bit of everything, whether it's a wild Friday night or a quiet Sunday morning, or being in the big city while also appreciating small-town life.

"Just holding down the middle / I'm steady as I go / I ain't all holy water / And I ain't all Jim Beam / I'm somewhere in between," he sings in the "In Between" chorus. The song sets itself up to be a standout on McCreery's upcoming album Seasons Change — it showcases his pure vocals and talent as a lyricist who offers a humble message.

Seasons Change is McCreery's first album release since 2013's See You Tonight. The lead single "Five More Minutes" is a poignant track that honors the memory of his late grandfather Bill McCreery. The singer co-wrote all 11 songs on the album — addition to "In Between" and "Five More Minutes," he's also shared a track title "Wherever You Are," inspired by his fiancee, Gabi Dugal.

"In the last five years, I have grown from a teenager to a man, moved out on my own, lost my grandfather, proposed to the love of my life, and learned more about myself than I could have imagined,” McCreery says of the project. "This all shows up in the 11 songs on Seasons Change, and I cannot wait to share this music with my fans after such a long time between releases."

McCreery and Dugal are currently planning their wedding following their engagement in September of 2017. Seasons Change is set for release on March 16.
