Steve Azar is brushing the dust off his golf clubs and getting ready to head south for the 11th Annual Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament, taking place at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla. March 24 and 25.

Joining Azar on the greens this year will be Marcel, Jessica Andrews, Ira Dean, Edward Burrows, Dan Kaminsky from Union Station, and actors Gary Valentine and Paula Trickey. "We're all a little group that goes out and does these events together," Azar tells Taste of Country. "We always have a great time!"

Over the two-day event that has established itself as one of the premier charity events in the Southeast, more than 300 golfers will spread out over two courses. Event highlights include a pre-tournament party, where players have a chance to bid for a celebrity teammate and a post-tournament awards party.

"Bill Murray just won the 2011 AT&T Pebble Beach Golf Tournament, which is good, so he'll be happy," Azar notes. "The Murray brothers are all friends of ours, so it always makes for such a great event."

Even though Azar has been named one of the Top 5 players in Golf Digest's Top 100 Musicians That Golf on more than one occasion, the singer admits he's a little nervous about picking up his clubs when it comes to large tournaments.

"I just got to play the Bob Hope Classic, and I wasn't prepared," Azar admits. "It freaks me out because you're playing with pro's, but I was able to play pretty well most of the time. It's stressful, you know? When it's winter in Nashville and you haven't touched your clubs, and then you have to go to Palm Springs and play golf ... there's just no way!"

Proceeds from the Caddyshack tournament this year will benefit the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Summer Academies, located in St. Augustine. For more information on the Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament, visit its official website or call 904-314-9508.

Azar's latest single, 'Hard Road,' is currently at radio. The song is the followup release to his Top 20 hit, 'Sunshine,' which became his highest-charting single to date last year. The song also produced a No. 1 music video for the singer. Look for a video for 'Hard Road' to hit the music networks in the coming weeks.
