‘Storage Wars': Darrell Sheets Argued With Son, Left a Note Before His Death

Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets was facing family tension, battling insomnia and under severe stress leading up to his death in April, according to police records newly obtained by TMZ.

The outlet reports that Sheets and his got into an argument shortly before he died, and that his daughter-in-law sent him text messages accusing Sheets' girlfriend of stealing money from him.

Storage Wars' Darrell Sheets Dealt With Stress For Months, Left a Note

TMZ cites police reports saying that Sheets had been dealing with stress and insomnia in the months leading up to his death.

His girlfriend, who isn't named in the documents, said he was under "tremendous stress" and often struggled with sleep. But she also said he'd never mentioned plans to harm himself, and that their relationship was in a good place.

The reports also indicate that police found a note written in shaky handwriting, which appeared to be a suicide note, in a black basket in a closet near where Sheets' body was found. It mentioned that he "could not take anymore the Facebook bullying," according to a police summary.

A few of Sheets' Storage Wars co-stars, including Laura and Don Dotson as well as Rene Nezhoda, previously said that Sheets was the target of extreme cyberbullying.

Laura Dotson said that the online hate left Sheets "terrified for his life," and Nezhoda said that the bullying included impersonation and serious threats to Sheets' reputation.

Darrell Sheets Had An Argument With His Son Shortly Before His Death

The newly-released police reports also indicate that Sheets faced difficult family tensions, including an argument with his son.

Sheets was dad to a son named Brandon and a daughter named Tiffany. Brandon was a regular cast member on Storage Wars between 2010 an about 2017, and the father-son duo often worked together as a team to bid on storage lockers.

In police interviews, Sheets' girlfriend said that Sheets and his son got into a verbal argument over "family drama," and that things became so heated that she left the house. TMZ also reports that Sheets told her he didn't want to be alone with his son, and he felt like he'd "let him down" after the visit.

After that, Sheets reportedly received text messages from his daughter-in-law accusing Sheets' girlfriend of stealing money from him.

The police reports also provide some details about what happened in the hours leading up to Sheets' death.

The late reality star's girlfriend said that he couldn't sleep that night. She found him standing in the doorway to his office, and he told her to go back to bed. She later heard a single gunshot.
