Taylor Swift has won the Favorite Country Artist award at the 2011 People's Choice Awards. Swift attended the People's Choice Awards, which were held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, with her younger brother, Austin. The country singer, who was wearing a sweet but sexy light pink dress, looked surprised as presenter Elton John announced her name. She hugged her brother and walked up to the stage to her hit song 'Fifteen.'

The always thoughtful Swift hugged John and said, "Elton, congratulations to you. You’re a dad now!" She then went on to thank those who mean most to her -- her fans. "To the fans, this award coming from you is such a showing of love," Swift explained. "I want to thank you so much for being people that I count on and I just appreciate this love so much because I love you too. Thank you for everything.”

Taylor Swift also went on to say what an honor it was to receive an award from Elton John. Before John announced the winner, he spoke of his love for country music. "Now, when I was a young lad growing up in England, the upbeat twang of the guitar and the honky tonk banging of the piano rang loud and clear all the way across the world," John said. "Now today, those love long melodies and rebellious songsters still ring loud and clear proving that you don’t need a pickup truck, or even an old pair of boots, to love country music. You just have to hear it to love it."

Later in the show, Swift had another amazing celebrity moment. She presented the award of Favorite Movie Actor to winner Johnny Depp, and the famous method actor went on to personally address Swift in his acceptance speech. He turned to the audience after taking to the mic and said, "Taylor Swift, by the way!"  Depp went on to say, "My daughter said if I didn’t say hi to you I would be in big trouble," as a blushing Swift stood at the side of stage waving 'hello.'
