'The Giver' film adaption will be released next month, and fans will finally get to see Taylor Swift in her role as character Rosemary. Author of the book Lois Lowry gives more details about Swift's part, calling her "compelling."

Swift has said before that her role in the post-apocalyptic YA novel adaption is small, and Lowry agrees, but further tells MTV, "The role in the movie is still a small role, but it’s a crucial and very important one."

It seems Swift's fans will certainly not miss her in the blink of an eye (unlike the film's trailer). According to Lowry, when she showed the movie to her two grandsons, Swift's scene was one of the most impactful to them.

"I have a copy of the movie in its final stages here on my computer, and I had my two grandsons here for the Fourth of July weekend -- they’re 13 and 15 ,and I showed it to them -- probably against the rules -- anyways, I asked them was there anything special that they liked best and one of them selected the scene with Taylor Swift."

The scene the 'Red' hitmaker is in is unforgettable, as Lowry explains, "... the elements of that particular scene he found very gripping. So her role in the movie is much the same in the book, except in the book she’s only remembered … And in the movie you can see the memory of her. She appears in, I don’t know the technical term would be, but you can see her. And it’s very compelling."

The haunting story of ‘The Giver’ centers on Jonas, who lives in a seemingly ideal, if colorless, world of conformity and contentment without differences or choice. Not until he is given his life assignment as the Receiver of Memory does he begin to understand the dark, complex secrets behind his fragile community and experience beauty and color in the 'real' world.

Other actors in the film include Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgard, Brandon Thwaites, and Katie Holmes. ‘The Giver’ hits theaters Aug. 15.
