A Denver, Colo., jury has decided Taylor Swift was assaulted by David Mueller during a 2013 meet and greet. It was a week-long trial, and the verdict was unanimous, giving Swift a decisive win.

The Associated Press reports that Swift will collect a symbolic $1 from Mueller, a radio DJ who lost his job after the incident, in which the pop-country megastar claimed that he grabbed her butt during a photo opp prior to her concert. Mueller denied any wrongdoing and sued, claiming Swift and her team targeted him which lead to the loss of his job.

The Denver Channel reports that Swift and her mother, Andrea, embraced as the verdict was read. Andrea wept, while Mueller didn't even look at his attorneys. His counter-claim was dismissed.

After the verdict, Swift issued the following statement:

I want to thank Judge William J. Martinez and the jury for their careful consideration ... [my attorneys] and anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault, and especially anyone who offered their support through this four-year ordeal...

I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.
