Temecula Road Show Off Their Soulful and Slightly Flirty Side on ‘Maybe Not’ [Exclusive Premiere]
If there was ever a country trio poised to take country music by storm in the coming years, it's Temecula Road. From the way they join their voices in effortless harmony to the way they play their mandolin in perfect tune, there is just something about this band that makes them authentic and real and quite deserving of a prominent place within the country music landscape.
If you still aren’t convinced, take a moment to listen to “Maybe Not.”
The soulful and flirty track is the band’s third single of the year, and demonstrates all of the irresistible pieces that undeniably make up Temecula Road.
“'Maybe Not’ is one of our favorite ones we’ve ever recorded,” explains Emma Salute to Taste of Country about the followup to "Never Knew I Needed You."
“It’s a song that people are always asking us about. And I mean, we’ve been playing it live for awhile, and fans will hear it one time and they will remember the hook. That’s how you know you’ve got something special.”
With the ‘Behind the Song’ clip premiering exclusively on Taste of Country today, the members of Temecula Road truly shine in this acoustic version, and say that the song has been on quite a journey since the trio’s Dawson Anderson first wrote it alongside Trannie Anderson and Ian Christian.
“The song started out as a ballad,” Anderson recalls. “But when we took a closer look at the real emotion of the song, we realized that it felt better playing it a little faster. And when we upped the tempo on it, the song really took on a whole new life.”
The evolution of “Maybe Not” is just another turn on what has been quite the roller coaster of emotions for the band since first breaking onto the scene three years ago with irresistible covers of songs by everyone from Carrie Underwood to Justin Bieber.
“We moved to Nashville about five months ago, and ever since then, we have had just a crazy journey,” remarks Temecula Road’s Maddie Salute. “We found out that we will be making our Grand Ole Opry debut at the Ryman on Nov. 1 and we just got word that we will be playing Stagecoach next April, and we have released three singles so far and we are recording two more this week. It’s just been a whirlwind.”
Temecula Road are also set to go out on the road with Sara Evans in December on her much-anticipated Christmas tour.
