Temecula Road write and sing about unexpected love because they've lived it. The California-to-Nashville trio's new song "Never Knew I Needed You" is a flirty, west-coast and pop inspired lover that takes full advantage of their strong harmonies.

The trio of sisters Emma and Maddie Salute and Dawson Anderson talk about the creation of their newest single during this Taste of Country exclusive video premiere. Anderson penned it with Ben Goldsmith and Lindsay Rimes — his two co-writers were living an unexpected love relationship at the time and the rest of Temecula Road could relate.

"They always say that love finds you when you're not looking for it and that has personally happened to me, so I relate to this song," 18-year-old Maddie Salute says.

Older sister Emma adds that Temecula Road have been excited for fans to hear this song for nearly a year. It was originally cut last September, with the acoustic scene seen here filmed more recently. Maddie and Anderson are seen taking lead during this clip. The full song is also being released across all digital platforms on Friday (Aug. 8).

While originally a California band of teenagers, Temecula Road are now a Nashville-based trio who open for and regularly earn praise from artists like Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay. The group is popular on Radio Disney, with their song "Fades" currently sitting at No. 3 on the Radio Disney Top 50. "Never Knew I Needed You" is the follow-up to "Fades."
