Thomas Rhett Earns Seventh No. 1 With ‘Star of the Show’
Though Thomas Rhett wasn't celebrating a Super Bowl win for his hometown Atlanta Falcons on Monday (Feb. 6), he did get a consolation prize -- his seventh No. 1 hit.
"Star of the Show," from the deluxe version of Rhett’s platinum album Tangled Up, officially hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase radio charts Monday, making it the fastest rising single of Rhett’s young career.
"I was in Houston this weekend for the Super Bowl when I got the news," Rhett says in a press release. "It made for a really fun start to the game, even though my Falcons didn’t pull through in the end. I’ve always known this song needed to have its moment, so it’s really sweet to be able to celebrate it now and with [my wife] Lauren and my dad."

Rhett co-wrote the song with his father, well-known country star and songwriter Rhett Akins, along with Ben Hayslip.
Besides “Star of the Show,” Tangled Up (Deluxe) also includes singles “Crash and Burn,” “Vacation,” “T-Shirt” and Rhett’s double-platinum chart-topper, “Die a Happy Man.” The latter has earned awards from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, Billboard Music Awards and CMT Music Awards, and it is currently nominated for a Grammy.
For fans wishing to catch him live, Rhett launches his first-ever headlining 2017 Home Team Tour on Feb. 23 in Saginaw, Mich. The tour, which extends nationwide, also has international dates in Europe and Canada.
