Tim McGraw on March for Our Lives: ‘I Say Right On!’
On March 24, Tim McGraw, moved by the various events held worldwide in support of the March for Our Lives movement, posted a video on his Instagram account that's circulating of 9-year-old Yolanda Renee King, the eldest granddaughter of Martin Luther King Jr.
The little girl gave a rousing speech in support of gun control at the March in Washington, D.C., making waves with the resounding statement: "I have a dream that enough is enough!"
"All across the nation, we are going to be a great generation," the younger King cheered, as the crowd roared her words back to her.
"These kids are an inspiration," marvels McGraw in his post. "They are the hope of our world. No matter what, you have to applaud and appreciate their spirit, and their fortitude!
I say right on!"
McGraw and his wife, Faith Hill, are both staunch advocates for gun control. In addition to several social media posts in support of the students speaking out in response to the Parkland school shooting, they shared their grief on social following the mass shooting in Las Vegas at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, and they were also outspoken in November 2017 after the CMA Awards, calling for common-sense gun laws.
In addition to McGraw and Hill, artists such ass Rosanne Cash, Sheryl Crow and Chely Wright have weighed in since Las Vegas.
