Toby Keith’s ‘Red Solo Cup’ Gets the ‘Glee’ Treatment in New Video
Toby Keith won't make his 'Glee' television debut until next week, but a full clip of the 'Red Solo Cup' cover has already hit the web. When an old McKinley High School regular (played by Chord Overstreet) returns in the 'Hold On to Sixteen' episode, a party ensues, and the red party cups get passed around like candy -- filled with sparkling cider, of course.
Surrounded by their usual choir room scenery, the glee club rejoices in the return of the character of Sam Evans, and he leads them on the song, hoping to "get a little country back in this joint." True to Keith's original version, the 'Glee' version of the catchy song keeps all of the not-so-PG words and insinuations, which we're sure the original singer appreciates.
While Toby Keith's version of 'Red Solo Cup' was originally intended to just be something fun, the song has made waves as a single. Just about everyone wants to declare their love for the perfect plastic party cup, even those who are still too young to drink anything alcoholic from them.
The 'Hold On to Sixteen' episode of 'Glee' airs on Dec. 6 at 8PM ET on FOX.
