Independent artists make some really important contributions to country music. Who was the top indie artist of 2018? Now is your chance to vote in the 2018 Taste of Country Fan Choice Awards.

Texas-based singer-songwriter Aaron Watson continued to promote his 2017 release, Vaquero, with a new single, "Run Wild Horses," in 2018, and in addition to touring, he released a live album. But probably his most unique contribution to 2018 is a much-anticipated Christmas album, An Aaron Watson Family Christmas. The 10-track project includes holiday standards, as well as two originals.

Garth Brooks has major distribution, so it's easy to forget he's actually an indie artist on his own Pearl Records. He made waves in 2018 with a rockin' new honky-tonk single, "All Day Long," as well as a splashy CMA Awards debut of his new single, "Stronger Than Me"  and the announcement of a massive three-year stadium tour.

Cassadee Pope parted ways with a major label and made the jump to indie artist in 2018, a move that resulted in one of the most compelling singles from a female artist in 2018 with "One More Red Light." Lucie Silvas, newcomer Dillon Carmichael, up-and-comer Kelleigh Bannen and Americana icon Jason Isbell are also among the artists vying for Top Indie Artist of the Year in the 2018 Taste of Country Fan Choice Awards. You can vote more than once in the poll below, and don't be shy about sharing with your fellow country music fans. But you need to hurry! The Taste of Country Fan Choice Awards voting closes on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 11:59PM ET.
